The sector employs 8% of the national workforce and contributes $15 billion to the economy, yet there is very little documentation of best practice within these associations. For this reason, AES has developed several programs to help evaluate and assess the performance of your organisation.
Take our free, Mini Self-Assessment comprising of 10 questions, for a quick health check of your association.
Do you need help with your association or not-for-profit organisation? It might be time for a change. Adopting a fresh approach and identifying improvement areas can enhance your organisation's impact and success. Let's explore potential strategies and opportunities for a promising new direction.
Why engage with AES?
Our experienced consultants collaborate closely with your Board and leadership team to evaluate your performance against over 700 associations in Australia using our proprietary Association Self-Assessment Benchmarking tool. We don't stop at identifying areas for improvement—we help build a strategic framework tailored to your needs.
Our Process:
By working with AES, you're not just making changes—you're setting your association or not-for-profit on a path to greater impact and long-term success. Our strategy can catalyse your era of growth and influence your organisation.
The AES Not-for-Profit Association Best Practice Self-Assessment provides association leaders with a diagnostic tool, which allows them to measure their association against proven best practice criteria. The Self-Assessment is comprised of 66 questions across ten performance areas, including leadership, financial performance, strategic planning, and governance. Following the 15-minute survey, leaders receive an immediate overall benchmarked score and a breakdown of performance across the ten areas, compared to over 700 Australian associations that have already completed the assessment.
After benchmarking your organisation against other Australian organisations, AES can develop a report which leaders can use as an objective measure of the quality of their service. The report will cover details such as areas in which your association is meeting best practice standards, opportunities to identify and begin working on areas that require improvement, objectives taken directly from the tool which can be methodically worked through, and data collection which can inform future strategic planning and sustainability efforts.
