AES is excited to welcome our newest team members, Jan Davis and John Kilgour.
Both Jan and John bring a wealth of diverse skills and extensive knowledge that promise to be invaluable assets to our team. Here's a brief
introduction to their backgrounds and the unique expertise they will contribute to AES.
Jan Davis has been described as Tasmania's top political lobbyist and one of the most influential people in the state. Well known for her ability to express key points of an argument clearly, Jan is adept at responding on message in both mainstream and social media environments.
Jan was recently appointed as the CEO of RSPCA Tasmania. In the past, she has held leadership roles in a number of industry groups in the agriculture sector, including Protected Cropping Australia Ltd, Agribusiness Association of Australia, Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, Growcom (Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers), Greening Australia, the Australian Mushroom Growers Association, and the Nursery and Garden Industry Association of Australia. Jan also served as CEO of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce and of Local Government Professionals (Tasmania) Inc.
Jan is an experienced non-executive director, with current roles including Australian Shellfish Industries Pty Ltd, Landcare Australia Limited, Fermentation Tasmania Ltd and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Tasmania). She is also an elected member of the Northern Midlands Council in Tasmania.
Jan has Masters degrees in both Agribusiness and Environmental Planning; a Bachelors degree in Economics; and Graduate Diplomas in Education and Environmental Studies. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and a Fellow of the Australian Society of Association Executives.

He spent a large part of his career in several leadership roles with BP in the downstream retail area, where he led an initiative to create the successful BP Highway Travel Centres in Queensland. He also served as the Oil Director – Vietnam and CEO of its subsidiaries BP Petco and Castrol Vietnam, which he transformed into a locally led and profitable manufacturing and retail lubricants operation.
He then moved into asset management and property consulting, before being selected as CEO of the Committee for Ballarat, which gave him insights into longer term strategic planning that goes beyond election cycles delivering social and economic growth ahead of major population expansion predicted for the region.
John was the CEO of Civil Contractors Federation in Victoria (CCF), and President of the Victorian Civil Construction Industry Alliance (VCCIA), which represents 20-member based associations across civil construction industry delivering in excess of $22bn per annum of major infrastructure works in the state. John then joined the Fire Protection Association Australia as Chief Executive Officer, where he designed and implemented strategies to ensure its future sustainability and success.
