About the Role
IFPA are seeking a highly driven and innovative Managing Director (MD) to lead the development and delivery of its strategic plan and the
ongoing day-to-day requirements of the business to ensure the long-term success and financial sustainability of the association. An
autonomous role reporting to the Chair of the Board, the MD will forge a strong partnership with the IFPA global leadership team to maximise
value and outcomes for its members.
Key Responsibilities
• Visionary Leadership: Develop the IFPA A-NZ strategic plan with guidance and oversight from the board.
• Operational Excellence: Deliver the objectives of the IFPA – ANZ operational plan, provide regular reports on strategic and operational
performance, including the financial position, presenting any required corrective actions.
• Financial Sustainability: Generate revenue growth by maximizing member retention, securing new members, sponsorship, membership, events
and other programs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Take a leadership role in industry advocacy and promote the value and services of IFPA-ANZ to industry and to its
members.
• Risk mitigation: Devise and manage the IFPA-ANZ risk plan, with continuous improvement on how risk is managed.
About You
• Proven Strategic Leadership Experience: Ten or more years’ experience in a senior management role in a professional or technical
association or similar organisation.
• Strategic & Financial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and/or business operations, financial and budget
management.
• Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and face-to-face with a wide range of people
including growers, researchers, consultants, service providers, directors, and government representatives.
• Extensive advocacy and industry representation experience; A demonstrated history of building strong relationships with a wide range of
stakeholders and the ability to influence.
• Governance; Extensive corporate governance, board, and committee management experience.
• A passion for the industry; Hort/Agri industry experience.
